Cheerleader Megan Welter Moves From Army Lieutenant Iraq to NFL Cheer Squad

Megan Welter has joined the Cardinals’ cheerleading squad at 28 years old. significantly older than most Professional NFL cheerleaders. Welter was involved in ballet, dance and cheerleading during her youth through college. She graduated in 2007 and joined the Army serving as a platoon leader in Iraq, serving a sixteen month tour. She was stationed north of Baghdad and ran the largest army base communications network of its kind in Iraq.

While she was stationed in Iraq, NFL cheer squad visited the base and she became intrigued by the idea of cheering in the NFL herself. After three tours, she returned home and tried out for the Cardinals’ squad as one of the oldest individuals trying out.
